Apple Inc. Unveils iPhone SE with 5G Capabilities

Apple

Apple Inc. on Tuesday added 5G connectivity to its iPhone SE, the cheapest of its kind. The upgraded handset would directly compete with rivals in the mid-range smartphone market.

Accordingly, the standout product gives the world’s most valuable company a chance to win consumers on a budget.

The announcement is the third version since the model launched in 2017. It now runs on the firm’s faster A15 Bionic chip, the same processor in the iPhone 13 line.

In addition, it features an updated camera and a longer-lasting battery. Then, the handset has the same 4.7-inch design as the previous model.

Notably, the added 5G capability could be the ultimate draw for customers, handing access to the faster wireless network.

However, the added component comes with a price change, $30.00 higher than the previous model. The new iPhone SE has an estimated cost of $429.00.

Still, its affordable price point gives the firm a better chance to compete with industry leaders Samsung, Xiaomi, and others.

In January, Apple released a record revenue during the all-important holiday quarter. The demand for its latest lineup of iPhones fueled the positive results.

Moreover, analysts mentioned that there would be pent-up demand for this next generation of the SE model across the globe.

They explained that the new unit would be the fastest and most powerful phone at its price point by a wide margin.

Moreover, the colors for the latest SE are midnight (black), starlight (white), and red. Then, pre-orders will start today, whereas the device will begin shipping on March 18.

Apple also mentioned that it would add two new shades of green to its iPhone 13 lineup.

The iPhone 13 will now be available in a bold new green, and the iPhone 13 Pro will offer an alpine green.

Apple’s 5G iPad Air, M1 Ultra Chip

Apple also announced an upgraded iPad Air and a powerful new Mac chip at its first product event this year.

The firm’s CEO, Tim Cook, unleashed an update to the iPad Air, which features the M1 chipset.

It uses the same in-house processor found in MacBooks, making the device faster than the best-selling laptop in its range.

At the same time, the iPad also has 5G capabilities and a revamped front-facing camera. Pre-orders for the device will be on Friday, with a starting price of $599.00.

Furthermore, the tech giant also unveiled a new in-house chip, known as M1 Ultra. It combines two M1 Max chips, previously Apple’s most powerful chip for MacBooks.

Notably, the processor has 11.00 million transistors, seven times more than the prior M1. It also includes 128 GB of unified memory for big workloads.
