It is worth mentioning that, football giant AC Milan in partnership with fintech blockchain company Chiliz announced plans to launch an $ACM Fan Token on the fan engagement and rewards platform Socios.com in the coming weeks.

Interestingly, ACM token holders will be able to use their tokens to redeem various exclusive rewards. They will also take part in interactive activities with the club and players. The addition of this club takes the number of sporting organizations on the Chiliz blockchain to 20. As a reminder, the list includes FC Barcelona, AS Roma, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and others.

It is worth noting that, in the past football fans used cryptocurrency tokens to interact with their favourite teams in a number of ways. For example, fans of Apollon FC based in Cyprus picked the team’s first opponent for a friendly match. Moreover, they had the opportunity to choose the uniforms for the 2020/2021 season.

Interestingly, Barcelona fans used the tokens to vote on the placement of a fan-designed artwork in the team’s dressing room. Furthermore, fans of another European football giant Juventus had a say in choosing the club’s new celebration song. This is not the end of the story, as holders of AS Roma’s fan token were even able to ask questions to the team’s head coach during a live press conference.

Blockchain and AC Milan

It is worth mentioning that, Chiliz tokens are accessible through Socios.com, which has reportedly been downloaded 450,000 times. Moreover, thanks to blockchain technology AC Milan wants to reach its fans around the world. As a reminder, the club has 450 million fans who live in different parts of the globe.

Based on the information provided by Socios, it generated $30 million in revenue for clubs as well as partners in a little over 12-months since it launched. Interestingly, trade volumes of the Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain tones surpassed $300 million within days of being listed on Binance.

As can be seen from the information stated above, famous football clubs such as AC Milan and others are willing to embrace blockchain technology. Moreover, various organizations around the world should pay more attention to this technology.
