Crypto mining is a profitable business. Companies are willing to invest millions of dollars into crypto miners. It is possible to use a smartphone for crypto mining. However, the question is how long it will take to make money by using a smartphone for mining. Interestingly, HTC’s Exodus blockchain smartphones will soon receive their mining app called DeMiner.
According to the information, Midas Labs is developing the DeMiner app, this app is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of 2020. This app will allow the owners of blockchain smartphones to mine Moreno cryptocurrency when the phone is charging.
Based on the information provided by the representative of Midas Labs, smartphones should be able to mine $0.0038 of Moreno a day. As a result, at that rate, a person will make over a dollar a year. It will take a lot of time to cover the price of HTC Exodus 1S.
Thus, it does not make sense to buy this phone to start crypto mining. Moreover, most of the people are not going to buy this phone for this purpose.
HTC and the purpose of its blockchain smartphones
Exodus blockchain smartphones have their advantages as well. For example, thanks to the relatively efficient processor it consumes less power than it mines. An average laptop can mine $0.06, Moreno, a day but will consume $0.156 of power to accomplish this task.
As a result, Exodus 1S is more useful compared to an average laptop. Moreover, by turning mobile devices into mining machines, this step could help to create a larger and more decentralized network. This will be a step forward for the crypto industry. Thanks to such projects it will be easier to stop giant mining pools from too much of a cryptocurrency’s blockchain.
However, Exodus smartphones are likely to remain niche gadgets for crypto enthusiasts. Nevertheless, HTC showed that it is possible to use smartphones for crypto mining.
