Instagram and its Live Video Experience

Instagram and facebook

Instagram is the world’s largest photo-sharing website, and this fact underlines the importance of Instagram. The history of this social media service dates back to 2010 when Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger created Instagram. Interestingly, people from all over the world, are using it and this social media service remains popular to this day. It is worth mentioning that, Facebook bought this social media service in 2012.

Moreover, this network continues to focus on improving its live video experience. On October 27, it announced multiple small changes, that will make streaming on the platform and then saving those live videos easier.

People should keep in mind that, they can go live for up to four hours. Importantly, this extended timeframe will be available to all Instagram users around the world, except for people with a history of IP or policy violations.

It is not surprising that a famous social media service is actively working to expand its services. The coronavirus pandemic affected the lifestyle, as people started to spend more time indoors. As a result, live-streaming became even more popular around the globe. It makes sense as people want to stay in touch with the latest developments. They want to know how their family members, friends, and colleagues are coping with the pandemic. Moreover, thanks to live-steaming it is possible to spread the information and explain what is happening in different industries.

It is worth mentioning that, people will also be able to view their own live streams in their private archive, similar to Stories and Posts, for up to 30 days. Interestingly, they can choose to download the content and post it elsewhere.

This is not the end of the story, as Instagram is adding a “Live Now” section to IGTV where people will find content to watch at the moment.

As can be seen from the information stated above, Instagram is clearly investing in live-streaming while the format is still hot because of the pandemic. Based on the information provided by the company, thanks to the longer timeframe, fitness instructors will be able to teach for a longer period of time. Moreover, it will be easier for activists to connect with their community.

The social media service made the right decision. Thanks to these small but important changes it will be easier to attract new users. Moreover, as people spend more time at home, thanks to Instagram and other social media services they will spend more time with their loved ones.
