Ubisoft Wins 2020 with Assassin’s Creed Updates

Based on the video game giant’s game, Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft is offering free downloads to give players a tour of its terrain. Fans can roam recreations of ancient Greece and Egypt in Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey until May 21.

The tours are called Discovery Tour in separate games featuring their destinations. This means that you have to leave the Ancient Greece version to enter Ancient Egypt, and vice versa.

Much like Minecraft fans, some players get to appreciate in-game terrains more than the violence that comes with it. These tours are a response to these fans, as they’re usually only available in a completely separate mode.

In this game, instead of the usual Origins versions, it offers glances of what these places used to look like. Some reports described it as similar to audio tours in museums, but interactive.

A Glimpse of Ancient Egypt

This version takes place in the same place as the actual Assassin’s story, but without combat, experience levels, or collectibles. It begins with a view of how the city of Alexandria was built through a golden path.

Once you reach a place of interest, the game pauses to allow the narrator to provide its history. Interestingly, it doesn’t only show the actual city, but how Ubisoft developers recreated them, as well.

From there, the game will show why they chose the setting for the game despite its unique hardships. Its soil and surrounding seas provided some logistical challenges, specifically.

The tour also explains how designers came up with the size of Alexandria’s walls. Some of the tours take users inside the Great Pyramid of Giza.

After that, the game loosens to allow players to roam around the setting with 70 guided tours in tow. It covers daily life in Egypt to how the pyramids were constructed.

Some of its key figures, like Cleopatra, will also make an appearance for the tour. They can even wander the cities as Julius Caesar, Cleopatra, or the game’s main protagonist, Bayek.

Moreover, it also shows what Ubisoft developers used to make the game, such as the artifacts and maps.

Players can also select places in the map screen or the main menu to start a certain tour again.

Ubisoft also offers a guided step-by-step tour through religious rituals in temples, as well as a variety of domesticated animals. Any dark place provides torches and bodies of water provide boats.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Maybe it’s due to the quarantine, but the good news doesn’t stop there. The trailer to the Assassin’s Creed saga just became the most viewed Ubisoft video in history.

It’s only been 10 days since the company released the Valhalla trailer, and it already gained 100 million views. Fans were impressed by the hard work of the 15 studios, showing breathtaking cinematography, visuals, and scores.

The company hinted at a hidden blade that has the capability to kill anyone with one shot. Furthermore, the new Assassin’s Creed will be a shorter game than the previous one.

Reports also emerged that the composer behind the Ezio trilogy returned for the Valhalla game.

Ubisoft’s game is scheduled to launch this Holiday alongside the launch of the PS5 and the Xbox Series X.
