Apple alerts of supply shortages for Mac and iPad

Apple has tried by all possible means to avoid the shortage of chips we are all suffering in the industry. However, as Apple CEO Tim Cook has explained, Apple will suffer a deficit that will affect the iPad and Mac internationally.

Although they have managed to maintain a good supply level in the second quarter of the year, the CEO explained that this would change from the third quarter.

Specifically, there will be several supply chain shortage issues that Macs and iPads will suffer from. There is much more demand than supply, with an expected increase in demand for iPads and Macs due to the telecommuting boom.

Production problems

Tim Cook has spoken of Apple’s ability to maintain good supply levels in recent months. He explained that although the shortage of components has been problematic for the sector, Apple has managed to save itself to some extent by reserving a certain amount of vital components in its warehouses.

Unfortunately, with so many agents and companies involved in this problem, Apple cannot specify how hard the impact will be affecting these lines. The problem does not lie in processors since Apple has managed to ensure the necessary production of 5-nanometer chips.

There have been reports of such problems for weeks, again, in products like the iPad. Nikkei Asia warned a month ago that supply problems on the screen were holding back the iPad assembly line. Something similar happens with the MacBook, but this time, the obstacle would be in other components such as the circuitry.

It is difficult to foresee how this shortage will affect the world and the availability of these devices in the future.

Apple announced its quarterly results

Apple has seen a shockingly strong quarter one this year. The company revenue soared by 54% to sales of almost $90 billion. In every product category, Apple experienced a double-digit increase.

As demonstrated by Tim Cook, the company is in a period of radical innovation across the entire product line. The company remains focused on how it can support its teams and the communities in which it works to emerge from the pandemic into a better world. Cook contends that it would certainly start with products like the all-new iMac and iPad Pro. Also, it extends to efforts like the 8 gigawatts of new clean energy.

Apple has not presented official future guidance since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. However, Luca Maestri, Apple’s CFO, stated that the company would grow again in the quarter ending this June.
