Just Eat, Cryptocurrency Payment Provider, and Restaurants

A major British online food order and delivery platform, Just Eat made life easier for people. Just Eat added cryptocurrency payment support for its subsidiary in France. Importantly, Just Eat operates in 13 countries. The famous company worked with the cryptocurrency payment provider Bitpay to accomplish this goal.

As a result, users will be able to pay in Bitcoin and this is good news. Interestingly, Just Eat users will now be able to order food from across 15,000 restaurants in France.

Importantly, the addition of crypto payments comes after the acquisition of Just Eat France by Takeaway.com. As a reminder, Takeaway.com started to accept Bitcoin payments since 2017 for other platforms it acquired.

Cryptocurrency and Just Eat France

Let’s have a look at this decision. According to Just Eat France, users have to create a digital wallet by downloading special software or an app. The next step is to link it to the Just Eat application. Users can choose the Bitcoin payment option upon checkout that will redirect the users to the Bitpay payment portal.

People should take into account that, the price of Bitcoin will be calculated depending on its current price on Bitpay. Also, the delivery platform will not charge any transaction fee for the cryptocurrency payments.

Interestingly, if a user cancels an order paid for in Bitcoin, the platform will make a refund of the paid amount in euros in the user’s bank account. Importantly, the amount will not depend on the real-time price of Bitcoin.

Restaurants not only in France but in other parts of Europe should pay more attention to cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. Thanks to Just Eat and Bitpay, users have the opportunity to order food from 15,000 restaurants and can choose the Bitcoin payment option. This partnership is beneficial for all sides. Also, more people will learn about the biggest cryptocurrency in the market in terms of market capitalization.
