The crypto industry is evolving thanks to various interesting projects and the Mayor of Miami wants to make the city the most attractive in the country when it comes to the crypto and blockchain industry.
It is worth mentioning that, lawmakers in Miami spent the time to learn more about the policies of crypto-friendly areas. For example, states like Wyoming and New York.
According to Francis Suarez, who serves as the mayor of Miami, the city is making sure that they have the most progressive crypto laws. Importantly, he did not describe the race to be the regulatory winner as a fight between lawmakers in other jurisdictions. Interestingly, he praised Wyoming for attracting crypto-related firms. Moreover, he mentioned that every city in the country and the world should pay more attention to boost its technology ecosystem.
It is worth noting that it not the first time when Suarez talked about crypto. For example, he made several bullish statements regarding Bitcoin in recent weeks. Suarez proposed allowing the city’s residents to pay for local fees as well as taxes using crypto and investing some of Miami’s treasury into Bitcoin.
This is not the end of the story, as he already met a few high-profile figures in the industry. This is including a meeting with Gemini co-founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss. According to Tyler Winklevoss, Suarez is leading the way for governments and Bitcoin.
Interestingly, the city has the opportunity to become the leader of the industry. Miami, as well as other cities, should pay more attention to the crypto industry. Hopefully, the mayor understands the importance of this industry. Moreover, local as well as federal authorities should cooperate on such projects. This way, it will be easier to make cryptocurrencies more popular across the country.
