Oracle Decided To Relocate its Headquarters

Oracle is one of the most famous companies when it comes to cloud engineering systems, enterprise software, as well as database software and technology. Interestingly, Oracle is the latest tech company based in California that decided to leave the state. Based on the information provided by the company, it is moving its headquarters from Silicon Valley to Austin, Texas.

Importantly, the company is implementing a more flexible employee work location policy. The company changed its Corporate Headquarters from Redwood City to Austin. According to the company, a bulk of employees can choose their office location. Moreover, they can continue to work from home part-time or full time.

This is not the end of the story, as the tech company will continue to support major hubs for Oracle around the world, including those in the U.S. Thanks to a more modern approach to work, the tech company expects to further improve its employees’ quality of life as well as the quality of output.

Oracle and interesting details

Let’s have a look at the company. Interestingly, Oracle is one of Silicon Valley’s older success stories. Its history dates back to 1977. As a reminder, Oracle moved into its currency headquarters in 1989. It is worth mentioning that, several of its buildings on its campus there are constructed in the shape of a squat cylinder. People should take into account that, it the classic symbol in computer systems design for a database, the product on which the company built its empire.

As stated above, Oracle is not the first tech company that decided to leave the state. For example, Hewlett Packard Enterprise announced earlier this month that it will relocate its headquarters from San Jose, California to Houston, Texas. Moreover, data analytics software company Palantir Technologies moved its headquarters to Denver, Colorado from Palo Alto, California earlier this year.

Importantly, Tesla and SpaceX chief Elon Musk also decided to leave California. He moved to Texas. However, his companies still maintain their major operations in California. As a reminder, Larry Elison, Oracle’s co-founder, and chairman serves on Tesla’s board. Interestingly, Elison’s friend is Michael Dell. The company was founded and remains headquartered in the Austin area.

Companies not only in the U.S. but other countries as well are looking for favorable conditions. It is not surprising that Oracle, as well as other famous companies, made the decision to leave California and to move to Texas.
