Swiss Health Insurance Company and Crypto Payments

Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, and others are famous around the world. A major health insurance provider made the decision to accept crypto payments. Atupri Health Insurance worked with crypto financial services company Bitcoin Suisse to accomplish this goal.

As a result, 200’000 customers of Atupri Health Insurance will benefit from this decision. It is possible to use Bitcoin and Ethereum for that purpose. Interestingly, a major health insurance provider in Switzerland will not be holding any digital assets itself. A provider will receive fiat payments once Bitcoin or Ethereum is exchanged by Bitcoin Suisse.

Atupri Health Insurance is based in Bern. In 2019, annual sales reached $887 million. People should take into account that customers will have to pay any fees associated with mining.

Importantly, the company is a pioneer in the healthcare sector. Moreover, the company offers insurance solutions with long-term prospects. Also, blockchain technology, as well as the associated use of cryptocurrencies step by step, are becoming important. As a result, Atupri Health Insurance is willing to take part in this process.

Crypto financial services company Bitcoin Suisse and its operations

It is worth mentioning that, Bitcoin Suisse has more than $1 billion in assets under its control. Moreover, the crypto financial services company has been making forays into different financial sectors for some time.

For example, several months ago, the crypto broker added custodial support as well as staking services for Tezos and included gold, silver, and platinum for trading on its platform. Moreover, it also reportedly plans to hold a security token offering in 2021. Furthermore, Bitcoin Suisse plans to list its assets on the stock exchange by 2022.

Switzerland is an interesting country when it comes to cryptocurrencies. As a reminder, the country is home to the ‘Crypto Valley’ a fintech-friendly region based in the city of Zug. Moreover, the municipality of Zermatt recently rolled out a Bitcoin tax payment option in collaboration with Bitcoin Suisse.
