The billionaire seeks people for a trip around the moon

In 2018, Elon Musk stated that the first-ever tourist on the moon would be Japanese skateboarding, drumming, art collecting billionaire Yasaku Maezawa, who will be making the journey in 2023. According to the latest news, he’s taking applications for those who are willing to join him.

Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa said he is selecting eight people from around the world to join him on his one-week trip. Significantly, all expenses will be paid to the moon and back.

Yusaku Maezawa is giving eight lucky members of the public free tickets to the moon. You only have to fill in an online application form, which requires your name, email address, and photo. Furthermore, you also have to say which of Maezawa’s social media accounts you follow.

In 2018, Maezawa purchased all the available seats on Elon Musk’s SpaceX rocket. The billionaire had originally planned to invite eight artists with him on the journey. However, he announced that his plan had changed.

Maezawa said that he wants people from all kinds of backgrounds to join. He announced that it would take three days to get to the moon and then three more days to get back.

The billionaire announced that any person doing anything creative could be considered an artist. According to Maezawa, if you yourself as an artist, then you are an artist.

Pre-registration for the mission is available until March 14

The Japanese billionaire revealed the mission would include 10 to 12 people total. This includes the eight people he will choose as part of the dearMoon mission.

Elon Musk added that the significant thing about the dearMoon mission is that it will be the first commercial spaceflight with humans beyond Earth’s orbit. Musk says SpaceX will go past the moon, so this mission will go further than any individual has ever gone from planet Earth.

According to the website, pre-registration for the mission is open until March 14. As we already mentioned, the application process only required a name, country, email address, and profile picture. Meanwhile, an initial screen process will start March 21, followed by final interviews and medical checkups in late May.

The eight members will be selected at the end of June, and training will start shortly after that. Furthermore, preparation for the mission will last until “lift-off,” scheduled for the first part of 2023.

In the promotional video released Tuesday, the billionaire Elon Musk announced he was confident the rocket will have reached orbit many times by 2023 and will be ready for people transport.
