  • Vision Pro shows potential to revolutionize workspaces, entertainment, and healthcare industries.

In an impressive display of developer engagement and technological acceptance, Apple Vision Pro has achieved a significant milestone with over 1,000 apps available in the App Store just two weeks after its launch. Starting with 600 apps, this rapid growth underscores the tech community’s enthusiasm and exposes the device’s potential to redefine user experience in mixed reality.

Greg Joswiak, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Marketing, expressed gratitude towards the developer community. He thanked them for their swift and innovative contributions. This surge in app development includes spatial versions of popular native applications such as Photos, Notes, Safari, and Apple TV. Additionally, major contributions have come from tech giants like Microsoft, Zoom, and Webex.

Vision Pro: Work & Play with Major Apps

Apple’s Vision Pro has been positioned as both an entertainment device and a tool for productivity and collaboration. With the inclusion of Microsoft’s productivity suite—Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint—the device caters to professional needs. Furthermore, the absence of apps like Netflix, YouTube, and Spotify has not deterred users. These services remain accessible through Safari, with a Vision Pro-specific app for YouTube in the pipeline.

The device also shines in the entertainment domain, with apps from Disney+ and Apple TV, indicating a strong focus on providing a diverse content palette for users.

Enterprise Boom: Zoom, MS 365 on Vision Pro

The enterprise sector has also embraced the new technology, with Zoom, Microsoft 365, and a slew of other enterprise-focused apps making their debut. These apps offer features ranging from immersive collaboration with digital avatars to spatial support services for remote assistance, showcasing the device’s versatility across various professional settings.

Vision Pro Revolutionizes Healthcare XR

Perhaps one of the most promising aspects of Vision Pro’s application is in healthcare. With the potential to revolutionize medical diagnosis, surgical procedures, patient monitoring, and therapy, Vision Pro is setting a new standard for XR technology in medical fields. Hospitals like Cedars-Sinai and Boston Children’s have already introduced apps focusing on mental health support and healthcare training, illustrating the device’s impact on enhancing patient care and medical education.
