Google is No Longer Producing its Smart Speaker

Google is one of the most interesting companies thanks to its services and products. Interestingly, the tech giant is no longer manufacturing the Google Max Home, its smart speaker. Importantly, it has sold out of the product on the Google Store.

However, there is no need to worry about this product. Hopefully, the company still plans to support it with software updates and security fixes. As a result, the tech giant will continue to offer software updates and security fixes to Google Home Max devices. The company understands the importance of delivering great sound and whole home audio features across all of our Assistant-enabled products.

As a reminder, the tech giant launched its Home Max smart speaker in December 2017 for $399.

Google and a flexible work week

There is another interesting information as well. The tech giant changed its decision regarding the date when its employees will be able to return to the office. According to the decision, its employees will continue to work from home until September.

Moreover, the tech giant will experiment with a hybrid model allowing some employees to work from home part of the week. The information came from the company. People should keep in mind that, the company plans to test a flexible work week once conditions are safe for people to return. Interestingly, Google employees would work three days in the office and the rest of the week at home under the new plan.

It is worth noting that, the company is testing whether such a model would lead to greater productivity and employee well-being. People should take into account that, no company that similar to Google when it comes to scale eve created a fully hybrid work force model. Interestingly, several big companies are starting to test it and it will be interesting to learn about the results.

Importantly, Google was one of the first tech companies to go fully remote due to the coronavirus pandemic. The company made this decision to support social distancing. In the past, the company said that it would keep its 200,000 full-time and contract employees working remotely until July 2021. As can be seen from the information stated above, the tech giant decided to change the date. Google demonstrated that it wants to protect its employees. Moreover, a flexible work week is a good idea. This way people will have more time to spend with their families.
