How Apple Plans to Deal With a Major Covid-19 Outbreak

Apple as well as other companies are trying to deal with challenges created by the pandemic. The tech giant closed all of its New York stores to browsing because of a surge in Covid-19 cases. As a result, stores in the city will be limited to picking up online orders and walk-in services such as Genious Bar support.

Apple released a statement regarding its decision. The company regularly monitors conditions and it will adjust its health measures and store services to support customers and employees.

A company from California gradually relaxed mask requirements in some cities and regions over time, based on local regulations. The tech giant changed its store policies several times over the two years in response to developments in the spread of Covid-19.

This month, the company once again began requiring anyone inside its U.S. retail stores to wear a mask. Apple made the right decision as it tried to limit the spread of Covid-19. In December, it also temporarily closed stores in Florida, Maryland as well as Canada because of the virus.

Other companies including Walmart, Starbucks, and McDonald’s also reintroduced their mask mandates earlier this year.

Apple and New York

The country’s most populous city is in the midst of a major Covid-19 outbreak, forcing its transportation system to announce on Monday that there will be fewer trains running this week. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said it lacks enough staff members to keep service operating at full capacity.

The state of New York broke a single-day record for new Covid cases on December 24. The number of new cases in the city jumped by more than 600% in the past two weeks to 17,334 on Monday.
