Amazon and its Rewards Program for Flex Delivery Drivers

Amazon as well as other companies are trying to adapt to the ever-changing environment. It is worth mentioning that, Amazon is launching a rewards program for its Flex delivery drivers. Interestingly, the tech giant added a section to the Flex website as well as an app on Apple’s App store that advertise the program.

Let’s have a look at the rewards program. Importantly, Amazon Flex Rewards offers drivers a number of perks, including access to a debit card and the ability to reserve customized delivery shifts. The company will offer this program to all drivers in the U.S. However, it will take time to cover all drivers.

People should take into account that, Amazon Flex operates similarly to Uber. It means contracted delivery drivers pick up shifts on demand to deliver Amazon packages or Whole Foods orders to customers’ doorsteps. The history of Amazon Flex dates back to 2015. At the moment, this service works in more than 50 cities across the country.

Amazon Flex Rewards and new opportunities

Interestingly, after drivers sign up for the rewards program, they earn points for each delivery they complete. Importantly, they have the opportunity to earn more points depending on their overall standing in the app. It is worth noting that, the app takes into account metrics like on-time delivery rates and delivery completions.

This is not the end of the story, as drivers earn more points, they are able to “level up” and access new perks. For example, cash-back rewards on purchases made with the Flex Debit Card, a new debit card exclusively for the contracted delivery drivers. This card is linked to a no-fee banking account provided by online bank Green Dot.

Moreover, they can earn up to 6% cash-back on fuel purchases as well as 2% on amazon.com and Whole Foods Market purchases. People should take into account that, the fuel discounts should be a helpful perk for Flexers, who use their own cars. As a reminder, they are responsible for costs like gas and tolls.

Interestingly, drivers may use the “preferred scheduling” feature Whole Foods, Prime Now, and AmazonFresh orders before their competitors. Notably, these blocks are considered more valuable than other jobs because customers can add a tip to their order. As a reminder, it is not possible to add a tip when it comes to package deliveries. Amazon Flex Rewards will help the tech giant to attract as well as retain drivers.
