On Monday, Equiti Group opened a new office in Limassol, Cyrus. Equity Group provides multi-asset financial products and an online trading platform technology. Equiti operates in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, and America.
Equiti Group opened a new office in Cyprus just over one month after the company’s Cypriot subsidiary, Equiti Global Markets Limited, was granted a license to operate in Europe by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC). The CySEC license is the seventh regulatory license held by Equiti Group.
Mohamed Alahmad, the Equiti Group’s Co-Founder and Chief Managing Director, called the new office “a major milestone” for the organization. He added that opening the new office is part of our strategy to see growth on a global scale.
Alahmad said the company could offer its business-to-business offering to European brokers under CySEC’s regulatory supervision with the new office.
Equiti decided on Cyprus as its European headquarters for many reasons–including the country’s central location in Europe, its EU membership, strong fintech and FX broker communities, investor-friendly environment, and well-respected market regulator CySEC. Alahmad explained that the new office would draw on the company’s global network and tailored liquidity solutions.
Equiti and Expansion
Additionally, the newly appointed CEO of Equiti Global Markets, Hesham Hasanin, stated that the Cypriot subsidiary is excited to replicate the company’s successes in other markets. Equiti Group plans to expand its presence globally for three years. Equiti Group is looking to obtain licenses in other new markets globally.
